‘Fleeting Magnificence’ is inspired by breathtakingly luminous winter sunsets; an attempt to capture the impossible and ephemeral beauty of our skies. Cold, clear, pale blue skies and clouds are set alight with fiery accents and semi-transparent layers of fuchsia, violet, ultramarine, mauve, yellow and orange. Whilst traditionally handled clusters of gouache painted flowers, derived from Sèvres porcelain decoration, play across the canvas.
