Conceived on a summer evening in Provence, after a visit to the asylum where Van Gogh painted his cherry blossom, ‘Perfumes of the Night’ captures sweetly intoxicating, balmy summer nights. Luscious peonies and delicate, Van Gogh styled, cherry blossoms float across vibrant painterly backgrounds.
A thoroughly modern Chinoiserie, this design can be styled to work in a traditional, formal, bohemian or maximalist interior.
This colourway is a softer, more romantic version of the sunshine filled designs. Set on a chalky pink ground, it nonetheless retains its vibrancy through unexpected pops of aqua, pale turquoise, mauve, ultramarine blue and bubble-gum pink. The joy evoking palette was directly inspired by 'La fenêtre aux volets verts', by Raoul Dufy.
