Conceived on a summer evening in Provence, after a visit to the asylum where Van Gogh painted his cherry blossom, ‘Perfumes of the Night’ captures sweetly intoxicating, balmy summer nights. Luscious peonies and delicate, Van Gogh styled, cherry blossoms float across vibrant painterly backgrounds.
A thoroughly modern Chinoiserie, this design can be styled to work in a traditional, formal, bohemian or maximalist interior.
This colourway is inspired by the remarkable displays of vibrant pinks that Victoria saw when she visited India and the feeling of sheer joy that these created. Unexpected, intense brushstrokes of teal, and orange further celebrate the hedonistic palette, and add greater richness and depth.
